Scarcely did Anurag Basu, the director of Gangster, guessed that the 18-year old girl (Kangana Ranaut) with an unusual look accidentally seen at the cafe, will succeed easily in the industry. The actress had previously been a model in Delhi and later started working with a group of theatre actors. Her rise to stardom started when she was chosen by Anurag Basu for his film Gangster in the lead role.

Winning the Filmfare Debutant Award was just the beginning of all the good times she was to have in the Indian movies industry. From then on, offers have started coming to her. She took up Woh Lamhe after that, followed by Life In A Metro, another big success from the director Anurag Basu. Her popularity increased with the success of Tanu weds Manu, Fashion and Raaz- the Mystery Continues and she was known to be a dependable actress.

She has acted in 12 movies within 5 years in the Hindi movie industry and has taken up difficult roles. In Fashion, Woh Lamhe and Gangster she portrayed the role of a troubled mind where as in the film Tanu Weds Manu her character was more of an adamant type. In Game, she enacted the role of a police officer in Britain. And upcoming films will feature her in even more different roles as a happy-go-lucky New Yorker in ‘Happy New Year’, in an action role in the film, directed by Priyadarsan ‘Tez’ and a medical professional in Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Department’.

For the people in the film industry, she is a persistent and a dependable actress. Mani Shankar has told that she practices a lot of times before the shooting begins. Anand L Rai, who worked with Kangana in ‘Tanu weds Manu’, mentioned that she had a childlike zest to her work. Trade analyst Amod Mehra says she has matured as an actress and the transformation can be observed in her acting while portraying different roles. Her place in Bollywood has been given a boost with the success of the lately released film Tanu Weds Manu.

As in the case of any other celebrity, Kangana Ranaut has also been involved in some controversies. There was a rumor about Kangana trying to develop tension between actress Amisha Patel and the Dutt family, to be good friends with them. She was also rumored to have attended a get together organized by Salman Khan, where she wasn’t invited. There are rumors that Kangana will wear a bikini in the upcoming movie Rascals, directed by David Dhawan. For the last one, she retorted saying that the filmmaker has not asked her to wear a bikini.

Indian Movies Making It Big Internationally

India has been finding its niche in the international movie market over some years. Indian movies are on an increasing rate taking the help of Hollywood technicians to match with the international standards. Bollywood is growing in its fan following in several foreign countries. Producers from northern and southern part of India are trying their level best to grow the business of filmmaking in other countries.

Indian cinema has recently seen an obsession with superhero stories. Film producers have been putting their best foot forward to make their movies look like an English movie with newest methods. In the south, the Rajnikanth film Robot was said as being the most expensive movie made in India. Film director Shankar, hired some of the talented technicians from the American film industry to provide the visual effects for the film. The superstar, who has a huge Japanese fan following, enjoyed a good time after the commercial success of Robot in Tamil as well as the dubbed version.

The film is set in Spain and predictably, features an actress from Spain Ariadna Cabrol, as one of the female leads and has cinematography handled by Carlos Catalan from Barcelona.

With increased collaboration with Hollywood technical crew and actors, the Indian movies, especially Hindi movies, is trying to spread its wings internationally. Although the impact of these steps cannot be predicted now, all are anticipating the release of these Hindi films.

Shah Rukh – The New Super Hero

Believed to be the costliest movie ever made in India, RA One is one of the most eagerly awaited releases of 2011. Believed to be one of the most cherished movies of SRK, this sci-fi film is from his own Red Chillies. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor play important parts in the film by Anubhav Sinha. Shahrukh portrays G One, the superhero, first time ever in his career. In order to be at par with international movies, new elements have been employed in this one.

Recently, in a get together, Shah Rukh Khan’s new look in the superhero avtar was unveiled. The poster with extraordinary visual effects looked amazing. As per sources, Shah Rukh’s costume in the film is for $1 million, which is of rubber silver, to perform the difficult stunt scenes in the movie. Shah Rukh commented that t-shirts with Ra One image printed on them will be launched in market soon. The appearance in Ra One resembled the pose of Shah Rukh in the song titled Darde-E-Disco in Om Shanti Om.

The story revolves around a computer professional working in Miami who is mad about computer games. SRK portrays the character of the computer professional who creates Ra One and G One with extraordinary powers. Shah Rukh is G One, the hero and Arjun Rampal enacts Ra One, the bad guy in the movie. Kareena will be acting with SRK after a long time. Arjun Rampal has said that the chemistry between him and Mr Khan in the film is going to be interesting.

The graphics in Ra One has been created by a graphics team from Hollywood. He also commented that the role was extremely challenging and demanded physical strength. He took three months of intense training. The movie boasts of a lot of international stars in it, like David Benullo from Hollywood, who has penned the script, and Akon, who has sung one of the songs for the film. Akon was felicitated for his track in the film, composed by Shekhar and Vishal. Apart from that, the set of the movie was visited by Dmitry Medvedev, the president of Russia.

Ever since the first look of the film has been launched, it has gained several pre release hype. Audiences and critics are comparing Robot starring Rajnikanth and Ra One. Robot was hugely successful last year. The launch of the movie has been shifted from mid 2011 to later half of 2011.

He casts Abhishek as a policeman, Prateik as a college student, Bipasha as a person who wishes to be an air hostess, Aditya as a drug trader and Rana as a DJ lives on drugs. There is another hidden mysterious person, who has last word in drug trading and is the authority of the trading of drugs in Goa. Bipasha Basu through her role of Zoe brings in the flavor of Hippie culture to the movie.

Abhishek Bachchan in the role of ACP Vishnu Kamath, wanting to run away from his past, is handed over the job of destroying drug mafias operating in Goa. As Lorry, Prateik makes attempts to be with his girlfriend (who has gone to the US), by risking his life. The role of Rana in the film is Joki, who carelessly drifts through his life when he loses all in a fight with mafia. Aditya Pancholi plays the role of a small businessman, who has a share in each and every drug trade.

Audiences get a feel of Goa and lives of people there, through this movie. Parties, beaches, pubs are sure to be seen in the movie . It is heard that Pritam has composed different music scores for different characters and the film is very well supported by the background music. This suspense thriller is awaited by many cinemagoers, which shows many places of Goa in it. The old and Dum Maro Dum are incomparable except for the remixed version of the song.
